Why would you donate?
Normally you'd donate to help the ones that cannot help themselves. But “normal” is so yesterday. Nowadays, people donate for other reasons: to build-up image, to clean their stained image or to feel a cleaner conscience.
The charity organizations are hidden political and campaigning instruments.
Donations have become a PR tool when it comes to image or an accounting one, when people need to laundry funds or make them disappear. Even when donations happen out of the need to do good, something is wrong.
Let's say you would donate several cents to an organization. Inevitably the organization would spend the money in some other way than you would expect; the one in need doesn't receive much of what you've donated.
But if you decide to give one dollar to a beggar, one would believe the money go directly into helping him. In reality your dollar is aiding him sustain the very vice that got him in that situation. Or aids him in raising the 100 dollars needed for the gun with which he'll rob a bank or the nearest grocery store.
If you wanted to donate money and are disappointed of the above described reality, then donate your money to me. Pay me for having enlightened you. Or buy my incredibly expensive bracelet to show everybody that you love to show off your money. And it also looks great, it's with diamonds!

What they said:
Make Hypocrisy History, a charity for nihilistic greedheads who like being seen as superior. Instead of giving money to charities which will undoubtedly misallocate it or to beggars who will use it to buy drugs or guns, €100 will buy you a plastic bracelet imprinted with a simple diamond logo, whose design says "my bracelet costs as much as your iPod". All proceeds go to the designer of the campaign, who will use them as he sees fit.
